In 1984, Steve Dietrich and a close friend operated a small painting outfit out of Flagstaff Arizona for the Summer. Steve, a Hempfield High School grad & local resident, then finished his Business degree from Susquehanna University in 1985 and entered the computer industry in New York City. His experiences there, developing technology solutions for large general contractors, earned him a solid background in construction accounting/management and superior customer service.
After returning to Lancaster in 1988, Steve decided to combine his experiences -- and, Ville Painters opened its doors. With modest beginnings in Millersville, PA, (hence the name "Ville" Painters), Steve originally employed college students to begin an exterior painting service for local property owners. Soon, Steve realized he needed to hire and train professional craftsman to deliver a high-quality product.
Through the years, Ville Painters Inc. has evolved, attracting a new level of experienced, professional painters. In 1991, Ville Painters moved to Lancaster City and added an office staff to manage the day-to-day operations. Ville Painters expanded again in 2020, moving their operations to Dairy Road in East Hempfield. This was done to meet the needs of an ever-expanding client base.
Building and maintaining strong relationships has always been a large part of Steve's personal, and professional success. One of his primary aims has been to select and develop quality employees who are as interested in serving their community, as they are in the painting craft and excellent customer service. As a result, Ville Painters has earned an stellar reputation among our clients.
In 2015, Steve was invited to join za local Business Peer group at The High Family Business Center. Still very involved with this organization, it allows Steve to work with, and learn from other local business leaders in his group as well as the many seminars and speakers the High Center provides to its members.
The net result is Ville Painters Inc, has established itself as a company with a vision deeply rooted in the fact that we love what we do: serve our customers. This mission is reinforced by the company's "corporate culture." Can be found in the Office, in the Shop, or his favorite activity, working with his clients. With over 35 years of experience serving the industry, Steve is happy to share his knowledge with any aspiring painter.

Christofer has been working in the family business since he was 11. With a Degree in Business Management and Leadership from Alfred University, he manages the Operational side of the business. Christofer’s goal is to expand our services, improve efficiency, and continue Ville Painters’ legacy for generations to come.
Fun Fact: Christofer is an Eagle Scout and an avid outdoor & motorsport enthusiast!
Heath has decades of experience in the painting industry and has worked with Steve since the early 90’s. He has a degree in education from Millersville, and exceptional painting skills, making him the perfect choice to train our team.
Fun Fact: Heath has been a certified Modern Masters Artisan for over 12 years!
Ashley is the friendly voice you hear when you call Ville Painters. She has years of experience in Healthcare and Human Resources, providing the stellar customer service that has been our Hallmark. She keeps us all on track and her communications skills align the field and office flawlessly.
Fun Fact: When she's not ziplining in Haiti or bobsledding in Jamaica, Ashley can be found keeping the Ville machine running!
Jonathan runs our social media, website, and advertising campaigns. But another part of his job description is to keep Ville Painters connected to our community.
Fun Fact: Jonathan loves reading, writing and watching the Phillies!
Arthur Boyer supervises many of our largest commercial and residential projects. Never one to shy away from a challenge, we appreciate his industry expertise. His calm demeanor is welcomed by customers and coworkers alike.
Fun Fact: Arthur loves being artistic!
Jamie is our commercial “go to”. He is as comfortable in a hi-lift as he is on the ground. He wins over his customers almost instantaneously with his enthusiasm and work effort. He and his partner Charles can tackle whatever is put before them.
Fun Fact: Jamie loves music and was in a band for years.
