Schedule Your Work for Exterior Season Today!
Although it may seem like Winter is in full swing, now is the time to start thinking about Spring cleaning! Make sure your home or business is ready for the change of season and take a few moments for a maintenance walk-around of your property.
The constant freezing and thawing that accompany the wild swings in temperature we have experienced can play havoc with caulk joints and other substrates and leave your home vulnerable to moisture. Here are a few things in particular to look for:
- Look to see if surface growth or mildew has attacked your exterior. It typically occurs on the northern exposure where direct sunlight may be minimized. This can break down the finish that is protecting your home and allows dirt and moisture to compromise wood substrates.
- Look for open cracks around your frames & sills, especially in older homes. Snow and rain can easily find its way to your homes interior and create numerous problems with plaster and woodwork. It also is an open for insects like termites to nest and create another set of issues.
- Make sure your rain system is free flowing and not clogged or blocked in any way. This prohibits water from being directed away from your home’s exterior.
- Check for cracking in the finish paint, especially on sills and other horizontal surfaces where snow and rain can lay for days on end, seeping into the surface of the wood.
We encourage you to call and allow us to come out and conduct a Free inspection of your home. While you might not be in need of a full paint job on the exterior, you can certainly take care of the problems areas and extend the life of your homes finish. If you find the need, call us to make a valid assessment of your situation and offer any solutions should a problem be discovered.

Job in the Spotlight: Arby’s Restaurant
Many of us may frequent the Lancaster Tanger Outlets and have known the Arby’s restaurant has served its customers for multiple decades. After all those years in the same building, this year it was finally time to spruce up the building. Thanks to our great new estimator, Amy Sears, we were able to win the bid for their painting project!
The job consisted of interiors, exteriors, and the metal signage out front. Because of this, we had a large crew working daily, supervised by team leader Christopher B. We are so grateful for his leadership and flexibility which allowed the team to handle all challenges that arise with commercial projects! To prep the building, we started by power washing the entire exterior. Then, products were chosen specifically for their durability in high traffic areas for the interior and for their resilience to the elements on the exterior. Classic Arby’s colors were chosen so that the brand image could be seen from the thoroughly traveled highway and shopping center. See the vibrancy for yourself in our pictures!
Overall, this project was a learning experience for everyone on our team and we are so happy to have completed this iconic location! Thanks to Amy for winning the bid, as well as Christopher and his team for their hard work on the job.
ViP Team Member Profile: Meet LeAnn, Office Administrator
A little bit about LeAnn:
We are happy to welcome LeAnn to our office team as the new office administrator! As a Lancaster Native with 25 years of business experience, she is an excellent point of contact for our customers. At home, she raises her three sons, Aidan, Riley and Keegan. They also have three dogs, chickens, and raise animals for 4-H club. When she finds time outside of work, her hobbies include crafting, cooking, volunteering with local youth ministries, and running her boys around to their activities.
